Sisterhood has been officially selected for the Panorama of Balkan Film at 15th edition of European Animated Film Festival BALKANIMA 2018. Festival will be held from 2nd till 6th of October in Belgrade, Serbia.

August 2018

I am delighted to let you know that our newly established collective HEKLER is organizing a screening generously hosted by signs and symbols gallery  in NYC as a part of their artists and allies series.

Join us this Wed, August 29, 6-9pm for an evening of video, photography, and animation. Stemming from the dynamics of hospitality and conflict, the featured works activate political reflections on personal and collective memory of place - relationships, loss, and landscape.

Sisterhood got officially selected to be part of the SEE a Paris 2018 festival, a South East European Film Festival that will take place in Paris from 30th of May till 2nd of June 2018. Check out the program on the link below.

March 2018

Happy to share that my short animation Sisterhood was officially selected to participate at the 13th Athens Animfest, an animation festival in Athens, Greece. The festival will take place on Thursday, 15th of March and will end on Wednesday, 21st of March, 2018. The film was also selected to participate in ProFi Fest, 7th International Movie Festival in ProkupljeProkuplje, Serbia that will take place from 16th to 20th of May.

My MFA thesis work will be on view at The William Benton Museum of Art from  April 3rd until May 6th. After this period the show will be hosted by LMAK Gallery in NYC from June 14th until July 27th.

I am very humbled to share that I am awarded a prestigious The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for my upcoming thesis project at William Benton Museum of Art in 2018. 

 

May, 2017

The premiere of The Red Chair, a performance created in collaboration with Margarita Blush, Puppet and Devised Theatre Artist and Braley Degenhardt, UConn BFA Acting Student will take place at Artspace, New Haven, a performance created in collaboration with Margarita Blush, Puppet and Devised Theatre Artist and Braley Degenhardt, UConn BFA Acting Student.

We are thankful to the UConn School of Fine Arts Dean's Fund for supporting this project.

I am happy to share that I have been awarded with Dean Jerome M.Birdman Scholarship for academic accomplishment and artistic promise, University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, USA

 

August 14 - August 26, 2016

Thrilled to receive the David Marshall Schoolarship that will fully fund my residency at the Penland School of Crafts, Penland, NC, USA. During that period I will attend  printmaking workshop Screenprinting: Basics & Beyond and work with Studio artist and adjunct professor at Utah State University, Sage Perrott.

Performance piece The Red Chair has been recognized  as  the best project to receive a support from the University of Connecticut  funding from School of Fine Arts Dean's Fund. Thanks to a great generosity of the school you will be able to see this project  at the Artspace, New Haven  in the spring of 2017.

It has been an amazing expereince to be a part of a great team and serve as an Expert Consultant for Set Design (creating characters armatures, set construction, creating hairstyles for characters, animation of the black-haired girl in the spring scene, paint out of the spring scene) and children's workshop coordinator.

Dear friends, I am very happy to share that I got accepted into three MFA programs in the United States, the University of Delaware, University of Connecticut, and the New York Academy of Art. It was a difficult decision to choose in between these amazing schools, and after making it I look forward to this new three-year chepter at MFA Studio Art Program, Art&Art History Department, School of Fine Arts, University of Connecticut.
